Treasure in the most unlikely places |
The world dose not revolve around your universe and when I say something I am not being negative toward you, PLEASE DON'T TAKE IT THAT WAY. We (the rest of the world--because I know I am not the only one that witnesses this insecurity in you) may not even really know you, but let me tell you.. when we see that you jump down on someone for something benign, we don't want to know you. You may be trying to say you are better than the rest of us, and frankly we are ok with you thinking that, we understand whats really going on; but it also means eventually you will have NO friends. ZIP.. NADA.. ZILCH... NONE.
I call this the Mommy War Zone. When we are in school we see these little girls that behave like this and then we get older and we think we all outgrow this phase until we have children. We start spending time with other moms and we discover its alive! This female hatred toward other females is alive and kicking. I have no idea where this one upmanship comes from, but I know its not how we are suppose to behave toward another sister....
Maybe we should... oh I don't know.....Love one another..... View each other with compassion and even forgiveness? What is that called? Oh yeah..... LOVE!
What a great concept... Loving each other.
Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God. He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love. 1 John 4:7-8
We are told to love one another. If we can’t show love, or loving correction when needed, toward a brother or sister we don’t know God. Wow…. Being bitter, being self-righteous, correcting in an unloving manner is the act of an ungodly person. Granted, I KNOW we all fall short, but we need to strive to be more loving toward each other.
A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. By this shall all [men] know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another. John 13:34-35
One of the greatest ways of witnessing to others about God and His mighty power and mercy is to show it in our actions. Can someone look at you and just know that you follow God? Or do you get asked, “are you Christian?” Someone should be able to look at you and KNOW without a doubt that you are indeed a Christian.
And above all things have fervent charity among yourselves: for charity shall cover the multitude of sins. 1 Peter 4:8Charity means giving. Not just monetary but actually showing love. Taking a meal to a person in need, helping a mom that has several littles but needs a break, helping a brother that needs to replace his fence, giving a ride to an older lady that needs to make an appointment…. These are all ways of showing we love and care about each other. Money is fine, but our actions and deeds show forth His love.

I am a work in progress….
I included this because it has been a longtime memory verse of mine. It reminds us what the Holy Spirit needs to live within us. Do we want the Holy Spirit living in squalor? NO!We want him to live in the best home possible.
Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. John 15:13
What would you do for another brother or sister in Christ? Your own family member? Christ laid down His life for us, yet we struggle giving up material things. We struggle giving up the idea that we must prove we are just and correct. We try to prove (until the cows come home) that we are worthy of another MAN or WOMAN’s attention.
It’s time the rubber meets the road. Its time we show love toward each other so that we raise a generation of daughters who are strong in God
Lets end the Mommy War.
