We are giving away the farm

Ok, no we aren't but I do have a couple books I am giving away to one lucky reader!  Today I am joining the 2012 Curriculum Clean-Out from Homeschool Creations
Here are the guidelines:
  1. Like Garden Tenders on Facebook;
  2. Follow my blog; and
  3. Leave a post about your most favorite thing to cook with your children.
So what books are we giving away?  The GIANT Encyclopedia of Preschool Activities For 4-Year Olds and Your Four Year Old:  Wild and Wonderful.  The winners will be announced  by August 17, 2012 (contest ends August 15, 2012 at 11:59 PM PST).  We will ship for free to the winner via US Media Mail only.  I will announce the winner on Garden Tenders' Facebook page and here .  You will then have one week to email me your mailing address.

Wow. That was a mouth full!  *grin* Ok, about the books, they are used by me but still in very good shape.  I may add more books as time goes on in other posts so keep checking back for more chances to win.

 The Giant Encyclopedia of Preschool:
This wide-ranging collection of more than 600 teacher-created, classroom-tested activities has everything from songs and books to activities in art, circle time, transitions, science, math, language, music and movement, and more! This complete resource of the best selections from a national contest is sure to become a classroom favorite. Some very fun ideas here to get your started.

 Your Four Year Old:
From a reviewer at Amazon:  I have found them to be the clearest and most concise behavioral information out there. They are meant to help parents discern when their child's behavior is "within normal limits/range" and when alarm bells should start to ring.
From the book teaser:  What is it about four-year-olds that makes them so lovable? What problems do four-year-olds have? What can they do now that they couldn't do at three? Drs. Ames and Ilg, recognized authorities on child behavior and development, discuss these and scores of other questions unique to four-year-old girls and boys, and they offer parents practical advice and enlightening psychological insights.

Good luck gentle friends!

  4. My little girl wants to do a lot but she I think she's still a bit young so I try to have her help doing a lot stirring when necessary and decorating desserts (which she loves). I let her go crazy (sometimes) topping her pancakes and she loves it when I let her help me make our special (heart healthy) rainbow sprinkle pancakes (thank you Sneaky Chef.com for the recipe).

    1. I was really surprised at how much Bear could do in the kitchen, even at a young 3. I think I started with cookie decorating when she was about 14 months old. :-) I wonder sometimes if my allowing her to try things has created a monster. :-)

      Thank you for visiting!

  15. my 3 year old absolutely loves helping me get root vegetables ready to be roasted. She washes and dries them. Then I cut them up and put them in a bowl for her. She will then put the seasonings and olive oil on them and mix it really good before putting them on the pan.
