Here are a few pictures which can tell the story best.
Welcome to the Butterfly Garden:
Where all children are allowed to dance and flutter with the butterflies and flowers.
Welcome to the Butterfly Garden
Inside the tent I used plastic table cloths to give it a more festive drapery kind of look, and we attached flowers and ribbons, etc to hang down.
One of Bear's little friends. you can see the flowers hanging down and the way I used quilts to try to give it a garden party look.
Even the arbor got decorated, though I ran out of table cloths for the top of it.
The Butterfly Birthday Cup Cakes. I bought the very real looking butterflies from Here...
They were easy to put on and very real looking. One or two did curl a bit but I think that was from something I did.
I added butterflies to the Barbie Cake as well.
Enjoying the cake and ice cream
Then several girls enjoyed playing with the butterfly elephant inside the house. Too windy outside. Here you see two friends making sure the girls play well. (Hi Josh and Sarah!)
Grandma and Aunts were invited....
Mister Spider was not....
Even little brothers had fun...
Every year the sandbox is the biggest hit.
But the activity table with wands/fans and magnets for the kids to make called for fun attention as well.
Happy Birthday BEAR!
Of course here is the Party Girl herself....
Amidst all her butterfly friends
What do you call a bunch of butterflies?
Lek!
Of course, I have read you can call them a swarm, rabble, or even a kaleidoscope! Not sure I would call these beautiful butterflies a swarm or rabble.
Little Frankie excited to wish Bear a happy Birthday.
It was a really great party and a big thank you to all Bear's friends for coming to help her celebrate turning 5. We love each and every one of you!
Oh, what a sweet and lovely party theme, perfect for a 5 year old girl.
