So here is my 3 in 30 update for the week (click link for Our good life blog).. Not much done, because of the heat.
My Goals for August 2012 3 in 30 are:
-
I want to tackle my Pantry area. Get it ready for the fall harvest and stock up I will be doing.
I worked several hours and I am almost done! This is a project that is another one of the dreaded HAVE to projects.
-
Paint the front porch and trim.
The weather is still not being agreeable.....
-
Get lessons IDEAS (notice I said ideas--child led means we are a bit on the fluid side, but I want to get supplies out, and things to put before Bear --mommy is a facilitator of her education, I can and will guide it or else all we would do is learn about strawberry shortcake!) figured out for September through December (but leave lots of leeway room). We will slowly start with lessons in Mid August.
On a side note.... I think I will be canning this next week, if I can hold things off that long. Green beans and relish. Fun times, getting food put up.
Thank you gentle friends,
Canning does sound like a lot of fun! It's always nice to see your pantry filled with items you can enjoy in the off-season, isn't it?
ReplyDeleteThat's great that you also have a framework for the upcoming school year. You asked if anyone ever doubted what they planned once it was written down. I have. However, that's the beauty of homeschooling - that you can modify as you go along.
This is the first year that I haven't completely written out detailed activities/plans for all subjects for the entire year. I am going to re-assess after 2 months, see where we are, what the interest level in certain subjects, and then plan out a couple more months.
Thank you for visiting. I think a couple months of plans is a great idea, reassesing by around thanksgiving or so.... :-) My plan is still very loose.
DeleteYou are doing great - congrats on being out of school :)
ReplyDeleteI plan for 3-4 weeks at a time. It depends how Sophie is doing and what her interest level is. This year instead of doing a boxed curriculum I'm making up my own, so we'll see how it goes. LOL!!
I usually end up changing a goal here and there - nothing wrong with re-vamping!!
My thoughts as well. I mean, they are so young still! We never know if they will even find enjoyment in what we are planning.
Deleteit was quite WARM this last week wasn't it?! no worries, with highs only in the 60s on Wednesday, Washington has not forgotten her normal patterns :) We went to the shore on Thursday to avoid the heat and had a great time. This week should be great for painting, good luck!
ReplyDeleteI agree, I think tomorrow I will do some trim work around the porch and then paint the steps. Thank you for visiting.
DeleteGood job on your pantry area. And hopefully the weather will cooperate soon for your porch. We haven't had the best weather here, either; it's rained almost every day for the past two months. We need it to stop so the floodwaters will recede, literally. Our backyard flooded from Debby at the end of June, and the water still hasn't gone down.
ReplyDeleteIt's hard planning for school, isn't it?
