Thanks for all this Lord!

Devote yourselves to prayer, keeping alert in it with an attitude of thanksgiving
Colossians 4:2

This has not been an easy week, physically that is.  I have spent some time thinking about God and in prayer. Even among pain we can find reasons to be thankful.  I spent much of Tuesday and part of Wednesday suffering from pain bouts.  Wednesday was better, Praise the Lord!  I have seen a silver lining though;  God always provides one when we seek it from Him.  It has given me a chance to do a little searching.

Saturday we got a great deal accomplished in the yard.  The truck was ready shortly after we called for it, it could have been a long wait otherwise.  So thankful that task was uneventful.

Thankful for freezer dinners.  I need to replenish our supply but they have come in handy this week.

I am thankful that my hubs has a job, when so many don't. While some might look down on his work, he does it well and to the glory of God.  That is what God asks as us; that we do all things with Him in mind and that we do them as well as we can.  Too many people put too much thought into status symbols, having a powerful job, big fancy house, and a shinny new car; and then they dig themselves into a hole that has despair at the bottom.  I have seen it, I have felt it.  It's not worth it. Sometimes what pays more isn't always better.

I am so blessed.  The Lord really does look out for me and my little family.  We are still learning to rely completely upon Him (i.e., waiting upon Him), but as we are a work in progress I am reminded that it means God is active in our life.  He isn't yet finished with the refining process.

What kind of things are you thankful for this week?

  1. What a beautifully thankful heart you have. I agree 100%. My favorite quote is from Mother Theresa and it always brings me a smile, "I know God will not give me anything I can't handle. I just wish He didn't trust me so much.” 8)
