Thankful Thursday

I am thankful for a forgiving husband.  He is so very kind and long suffering with me.  I really don't deserve his love and it makes me think about the love that God has.  I don't deserve His love either.

The rain we had while camping.  It was fun to sit with my best friend in camp chairs and hold hands while watching a smoldering fire.  The soggy hot dogs weren't bad either.

Thankful for the sunshine we are having now.  Yes God does give us a promise to never let our world be just full of rain, but our job is to seek out the rainbows.

Thankful for my wee Bear and her undying love and thirst for knowledge and the special gift I have been given to be able to see and teach her through these milestones.

Thankful that I have been born in a country where I am free to worship, free to praise, and free (for the most part) to homeschool our child.

Thankful for the pastor that Patrick Henry seen one day that refused to get a license to preach the Gospel, and for the faith and conviction that he had to say no to the kings men.

Thankful for all the others which have fought and/or died through the years for this "experiment" and our republic.

Thankful I can still teach my daughter the Pledge of Allegiance, and teach it the way I was taught, ONE NATION UNDER GOD.  Am I the only one that has a tear in her eye when I think about this?  I love our flag, I love the story and history behind it, I love America, and despite the problems facing us, I do believe that we will rise again from these troubling times, weak but not broken.

Now, our God, we give you thanks, and praise your glorious name.

  4. Yes, indeed, we Americans have a whole lot to be thankful for, no matter what things look like :-). I am working on our family's 1000 gifts as well.

  6. It is nice to "meet" you and read your post. I too often think of how loving and forgiving my husband is to me and how he is such a good example to me of God's love.

    Have a nice Friday!
