3 in 30--A Challenge

Those of you have have been following my journey these past couple years understand my strong desire to complete tasks and lead a simpler life at home.  I really feel with my heart that if my home is not in utter chaos, that my life in general will be more calm and the lives of my family will be more calm.  There are studies that prove this to be a fact.  Clean House was onto something when Neciey Nash would quip that a messy house meant a messy life.  How can anyone feel harmony when there is chaos around them?  They can't.

We are now participating in a 3 in 30 blog challenge and link up to keep us accountable to a certain extent.  The idea is to  make 3 goals and work on them for 30 days (or one month).  Each week I will post my progress on Friday morning and then at the end of the month on the first Friday I will post my accomplishments and my new goals for the next month.

My 3 in 30 for July are:
  • To weed my garden and flower bed every Saturday morning.
  • To walk for 30 minutes 3 times a week to start (per doctor orders--so lets make it happen).
  • To organize the basement and finally get it DONE.  This has been ongoing since last summer and weighing heavily on me.
So, how about you join me and form your own 3 in 30 challenge, link up with the 3 in 30 and share the challenges and joys you encounter while accomplishing the goals.

Please visit the challenge and the other links of family's participating in this challenge.  Encourage them!

  1. Those are great goals, Kim! I need to make an exercise goal, myself. I've tried to turn getting the mail into walking & sometimes that works but sometimes, it doesn't. One year, I did aerobics 3x/week for 20 minutes just by dancing to fave songs on cassettes. If I could do that once, I know I could do it again. And I know you can, too!

    1. Exercise is something I need to do. Walking is perfect for what I need. I did buy a DVD though, but that is a bit more advanced right now. LOL
      Thank you for stopping by.

  2. Great goals! Exercising is tough, isn't it? I have to get up extra early to get mine in before my children wake up, but I feel better when I make the effort. Organizing: there's ALWAYS something in our homes that needs to be organized or sorted or rearranged or whatever. Ugh! When will our house just be right? I guess when we don't live in it anymore. *Sigh*

    1. Its very tough. I think about the time it takes and all the other things I could be doing..... but I will make this goal.

I seem to be in never ending organizing mode.

  3. I'll look forward to hearing how the basement project comes along. If you can post some pictures, that's always inspiring to us all who are also trying to organize and simplify our lives! I'm working on a couple of organizing projects this month, and know it will be such a good feeling to have them completed.

    1. This has been weighing heavily on me for a long time. I need to get it done so I can cross it off my list.

  5. I like these goals - totally manageable :) The exercise one is really good - and it's one that I've had going on for a bit. Thankfully I'm finally on a good morning routine, but it took me awhile to tweak. I'll be cheering you on!!

  6. I like that your goals are doable. So many times I make unreasonable goals and then am discouraged when I don't achieve them. Just think though--36 projects completed in a year. That's progress!

  7. I did our pantry this week, sometimes it amazes me how much better I can think when my spaces are organized.

    1. I'm the same way and I think our pantry and my kitchen cupboards will be part of my August goals.
