Super Sweet!

Super Sweet Blogging Award!!

Well, what do you know!  Garden Tenders has been awarded the Super Sweet Blogging Award.  I'm not really sure on the origins of this award, but its cute!  Claire, another homeschool mom of three, nominated me.  She blogs over at Frank Academy of Awesomeness.  The Franks are pretty awesome.

There are a few rules and regulations to get out of the way, along with a few question and answers before I get to the blogs I nominate.  I would love it if you would stop by Claire's over at Frank Academy of Awesomeness and send a great big "HOWDY" and let her know I sent you.

Rules and Regulations:

1. Thank the Blogger who nominated you (Of Course!)

2. Answer the 5 Super Sweet Questions (Do I have to?  *grin*)

3. Include the Super Sweet Blogging Award in your post (up at the top and on my page dedicated to such things!)

4. Nominate a baker's dozen (13) other deserving bloggers (Oh, how fun!)

5. Notify your Super Sweet nominees on their blog.

Five Super Sweet Questions

1. Cookies or cake? Both?
Hmmmm, are brownies a cookie?  I enjoy a really yummy chocolate cake, and my favorite cookie is a Molasses Crinkle.

2. Chocolate or vanilla?
Seriously?  Is there any question?  CHOCOLATE.  I rarely eat white (vanilla) anything unless ice-cream.  I don't even like Twinkies.  YUCK!  Your Twinkies are safe with me.  Now Ding Dongs......  yeah, you better find someone else to hide those for you.

3. Favorite sweet treat?
Chocolate chip cookie dough, fudge, and the above mentioned treats!  I also love popcorn.  I'm not a kettle corn fan.  Yeah, I know....  somehow un-American.

4. When do you crave sweet things the most?
When I am stressed out and bored.

5. Sweet nickname?
I have nicknames from my dad, but he's gone now and only he was ever able to use them.  My husband doesn't use nicknames for us....  Although I do catch him calling Bear, Bear pretty often.  *grin*

In no particular order, without further ado, let me present you with thirteen very deserving blogs.  Bloggers who might go days or weeks with little to acknowledgment, are bloggers I nominated.  of course I also had to think they were sweet.  Yeah no big, or belligerent blogs on my list.  *smile*

What's all this sweetness without a favorite drink!?

Allow me to introduce

I know I have mentioned before how modesty is something I think is pretty important for our girls to see and do.  For me this doesn't mean long dresses, completely covered arms, and necklines that begin at your ear lobes, though if it does for you, that's fine, but for our house we view it a bit differently.  In my search for showing Bear girls and young women in modest clothing in a positive light I happened upon Olivia and her blog Fresh Modesty.  I became increasingly impressed with her stylish, modern, and MODEST clothing (She also has a new e-book out as well, but her blog has so many tips and ideas on sewing as well).  Olivia is a young Christian lady that talks about service to the community and the importance of helping; she is an inspiration to other young teenage girls and young women, I am so glad I happened upon her blog last month.  I am so happy I can share her blog with you.

Which brings me to this:  Olivia and her blog, Fresh Modesty, have been presented with the Garden Tenders Blogger Award.  We don't grant these awards very often, and they have to be pretty special for us to offer an award.  They must be family friendly and uplifting.  Fresh Modesty fits the bill.

Please visit Fresh Modesty today and tell her Garden Tenders sent you!  Spread some bloggy love!

Upsidedown Homeschooling

I want you all to spread a little love toward Heather. She writes a wonderful blog at Upsidedown Homeschooling.

There have been many times that Heather has lifted my spirits, renewed my drive, and inspired me to keep on trucking and striving to be the woman God created me to be; even on the days when I have broken every promise I made to God.  Even when I holler and forget to be the wife and mom I should be, I can read her blog, see her discuss an issue I am dealing with and feel comfort in another going through it as well.   She generally has some words of wisdom to help me see a way through, even if its the reminder to go to Him who made us.

She blogs about homeschooling and her family life.  She shares her feelings; the ups and downs, her marriage, her children growing up, working..... and she doesn't do it with a condescending air.  She is truly a tender of her garden and blogs about her life, her challenges, and things she is working on.  She does this while encouraging others to be their best and do their best.  I should mention she is also a nurse!  That only makes sense.  She epitomizes the good about nursing; the caring and love for fellow mankind.

I have awarded her blog (and her) the Garden Tender Blogger Award.

This award is given rarely and only to blogs that are truly a cut above.  She is a blogger that tends her garden faithfully, she  also helps the rest of us tend to our own gardens as well.  She shows forth the fruits of the spirit, "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness"  Galatians 5:22.

Please pop on over to Heather's blog and see for yourself why she is so special in a world full of blogs.
