Thankful for our Northwest Autumn....

Autumn in the Pacific Northwest.

Autumn has arrived, despite the days without rain and the almost unseasonable warmth, it has arrived.  It's on our doorsteps and frankly, we love it!

Here are a few pictures to share what our fall has been like thus far and then pop on over to Adventures of D&V  and check out what other people have posted from around the country.

This was taken in my garden on 10/9/12
While it might not look fall, it was taken in my garden!
What a HUGE sunflower, more than 12 inches!

Also Linking up for Thankful Thursday with Women Taking a Stand (Laurie).

I am so thankful to a wonderful and awesome God.  He knew what I would need before I needed it and provided it for me.  This has been a month of returning to the book of James, over and over again.  How God sustains us.

I am thankful for the love and understanding of an incredible husband.  I know not everyone is blessed this much and I am sincerely grateful that He loved me so much to prepare such a wonderful set of arms to comfort me.

What are you thankful for?

  1. Ooo! I love the picture of the leaf on the wet ground (maybe on your deck?) I like how you captured the water as well as the color - perfect for the North West :) Thank you so much for sharing your fall photos! I have been thinking how thankful I am that God decided to make the leaves turn these beautiful colors before they fall off for winter. How sad would fall be if the leaves just fell to the ground with no color change. What a wonderful God we have :) Hope you have a wonderful fall day!

    1. Veronica, it was actually at a playground and I watched it fall all by its lonesome to land on the deck of the toy. We haven't had rain in almost 3 months and I was so happy we had a heavy enough dew a few different days to get some water drops pictures. Tomorrow our dry stretch will end they say, and while we will miss it, I think most of us longtime "locals" are welcoming it as well.

      Thank youf visiting!

  2. Hi, I'm visiting from the Fall Photo Link-up. I love all your pictures. The colors are so brilliant!

You mentioned returning to the book of James often. I am participating in a ladies' Bible Study on the book of James. My toes have been stepped on many times, but I'm learning and hopefully growing closer to the Lord in the process. We're doing the Beth Moore study James, Mercy Triumphs. I highly recommend it, if you have done it.

    Have a great day!

    1. My ladies study group is going through it as well, its all in God's time I think. He knew what I would be facing and He made sure I would be well equipped and ready for this. The reminder of His enduring love in James is awesome. Thank you!

    1. Its been such a odd fall here! Summer has went forever, and while I am not complaining, I also think most of us will welcome our normal weather pattern. :-)

      Thank you!

  4. Thanks for sharing the fall pictures! I like the one with the girl looking up at the tree. I mentioned being thankful for fall also today in my Thankful Thursday post but did not have pictures with it. These are all great to see the beauty of fall.
